THE LEAD: U.S. SET TO RECOGNIZE JERUSALEM AS ISRAELI CAPITAL
President Trump is set to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and has directed the State Department to prepare moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv.
CNN reports, “The decision, which is already being cheered by the President’s supporters and the Israeli government, is expected to roil the region, with US Arab allies warning Trump on Tuesday that it will undermine regional stability and stymie the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians.”
To comply with the law, Trump will sign a waiver to delay the embassy move for six months, as senior officials say it will take years to complete the move.
The Hill reports that “King Abdullah II of Jordan has said such an action will ‘have serious implications for security and stability in the Middle East.’ The head of the Arab League and the government of Turkey have also criticized the idea.”

THE WORLD’S BIGGEST STARBUCKS JUST OPENED AND IT LOOKS AMAZING
If you thought your local Starbucks was crowded, it’s nothing compared to what might happen in Shanghai.
The mega-giant coffee chain opened it’s biggest store anywhere in the world yesterday. The location covers a whopping 30,000 feet and Chairman Howard Schultz said the store will reflect the company’s 46-year history as well as bringing an element of “China’s rich, diverse culture.”
The store will offer lots of coffee options, but will also emphasize teas — including a nitrogen cold brew — which are popular in Asia.
CNN Money reports that China, was Starbucks’ fastest growing market last year, sales are up 8% there compared to last year. But “the Shanghai roastery won’t hold the title of largest Starbucks for too long. The company has already inked a deal for an enormous 43,000-square-foot Reserve Roastery in Chicago that’s set to open in 2019.”

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: IT’S UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER SEASON
What started as a tacky, holiday-themed party, has now turned into a celebration no one can escape. The uglier the sweater, the more heads turn. Christmas threw up on what was an item of clothing worn for warmth, and turned it into a fashion statement of holiday cheer.
Take a break from studying and read Uloop’s Chelsea Gilmore‘s thoughts on getting tacky over winter break.
